Hey there Troy, cowboy, pops, greg, and everyone else that I met in toccoa last year. Just wishing you guys a Merry Christmas . I hope to be with you guys at Currahee weekend in 2013. The jeep is ready to roll. I heard that there may be camping on the actual campgrounds next year. Take care

Merry Christmas, Kevin! Looking forward to rendezvousing with you at Toccoa, if we don't meet up sooner. I have the WW2 event in Peachtree on my radar.

Dear Kevin, sounds good to me. I'm getting too old to be running up mountains HA! I'm sorely out of shape. Is there gonna be camping on the old camp grounds this coming year? I heard it somewhere. There has been talk of camping out at the Toccoa camp proper, as well as adding a mock battle. I think both ideas are aces. Several of us were pitching ideas for the mock battle as well as for the larger schedule. Please feel free to kibbitz! Tom and I sat with the organizers of the event at the dinner, and they are concerned that things will ebb with the passing of the veterans. They were looking for ideas to keep the event lively and alive. We owe them a suggested schedule of events and mock battle details. I think adding Jeep convoy to the Currahee run would be awesome. The runners really enjoyed seeing Troy and I in full kit near the top of the mountain. Is yours a Willys or a Ford? I believe Troy or Doyle have more details. Happy New Year to all! Thanks, Rabbi Rob.

Dear Kevin, do you guys have any other WWII vehicles available for currahee? I could bring along my M3 Scout Car, which is handy for hauling a lot of folks in a parade and should look great in a mock battle. I'll have to look into transportation for it. I *might* have my M20 up and running by that time, but transport is considerably more challenging. It will fit several troopers on top and several krauts beneath. Thanks, Rabbi Rob.

cool, i'll have the EE-8 field phones up and running. Plenty of wire, it would be pretty neat to establish communications at the camp.

maybe we could conduct a tour of sorts of the original camp, or whats left of it. I think some of the original roads are still there. what do ya think?

Dear Kevin, maybe we could conduct a tour of sorts of the original camp, or whats left of it. I think some of the original roads are still there. what do ya think? I like this idea! It'd be especially cool to take folks out in our Jeeps and the Scout Car, if the event coordinators think it's safe and wise to do so. I'm not familiar with the camp and its former layout, so I couldn't be a guide. Perhaps we could convince some of the vets to act as guides? I'd love a tour with Col. Shames. As I recall there is only one original building left, and it's not in its original location. There was talk of relocating it. I think comms in the camp would be aces! Kids really dig that. I'd be on 'em all the time as well. Do you have radios for our vehicles by chance? I have some repro field walkie-talkies, but none of the large radio sets. Hmm, something for next Hanukkah. Thanks! Rabbi Rob.

I think Troy added my pics in the public area forum under Kevin Coker's Jeep. Keep in mind that it is an earlier pic and that I have added the proper tires and such. I'll try and get you some more recent pics.

I don't have any functional radios for the vehicles. I want a set of the BC611 handi-talkies.Even repros. I do have a AN/GRC-9 radio that was used late WWII into Korea, but i don't know if it works, because you need a seperate power supply and such.
